• Among all packaging waste in the world, fiber based packaging is the most widely used and widely recovered in the system from cradle to cradle, Hence, for most of the products we designed, we have been using a lot of cardboard or folded carton packaging design as a sustainable source of raw materials.
• Fiber based packaging is creative and can be very strong if they are design with correct flute direction and structure. As observed in North America and Europe, the recover of this material has reach over 70% in most of these countries. Therefore, it is quite useful to adopt this material and they are bio-degradable within a certain period of time under different environment.
• In order to validate new products packaging for comparison, E-pac is working on developing LCA in China so as to allow us to understand the effect of the packaging to the environment.
•With the utilization of variety of packaging materials as well as various packaging design concept, it is allow us to optimize the container loading capacity and ship more products during the shipment.
• Benchmarking on the carbon footprint based on ISO14044 standard on different possible proposals to the product packaging, customers can now understand the effect to environment on their packaging.
